Emergency management and patient monitoring system for IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital
IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital—one of the country’s most prestigious healthcare institutions—operates in an extremely large and complex environment, where fast, reliable information is essential to ensure operational continuity and safety. The hospital approached us with the goal of strengthening staff coordination and improving the management of daily emergencies, through an internal communication system capable of covering the entire area of more than 300,000 m², including the most challenging spaces such as underground, shielded, or distant areas—ensuring stable, continuous communications.
The solution
To meet these needs, we implemented a system based on two Informo IP servers—one of which is Enterprise—with a redundant architecture to ensure operational continuity even in the event of failures.
With this system, it is now possible to:
- Send web messages to pagers and SMS messages to staff mobile phones, making communications fast and traceable;
- Call pagers directly from the telephone line, to send immediate alerts even without computer access;
- Manage and monitor alarms in compliance with safety procedures, privacy requirements, and GDPR directives, thanks to integration with Active Directory.
In parallel, the Emergency Department was enhanced with the installation of PROTEGGO for sensitive access-point control, in order to monitor unauthorized entries and prevent unwanted departures.
Thanks to these solutions, San Raffaele Hospital can now rely on a communication and security system that is reliable, intuitive, and fully integrated—enabling staff to work in a coordinated and safe way while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
